I’m one of those weirdos who loves cleaning. Not the day-to-day stuff like dishes and tidying but truly deep cleaning. My favorite job is spring-cleaning the kitchen. After busy holidays and constant winter foot traffic, it’s a necessary project with a very satisfying conclusion.

For me, spring cleaning goes beyond the regular “deep” clean I might do on a Saturday morning. When I spring-clean the kitchen, I go into power mode and move the range to scrub the wall and floor, disinfect the trash can and recycling bins, vacuum light fixtures, degrease anything that lives on upper shelves, declutter the pantry, degunk the dishwasher filter, and even spend a few hours on the fridge. But I definitely don’t do it in that order because when you’re cleaning—especially in the kitchen—it’s important to work from the top down. When I’m done I’m extra motivated to keep up with daily maintenance and I’m more excited to cook.

Still, I have to be in the mood to do this kind of cleaning. To get myself there, I need two things: the right music and new cleaning supplies. I get as excited about new cleaning supplies as I used to about new school supplies—they make me feel ready to take on the world, or at least tackle a bunch of grease and grime in my little corner of it.

If you’re dreading a deep clean, or just need a little something to put you in the mood, read on for 29 products to make spring cleaning your kitchen more fun.

A smart speaker to set the mood

The built-in speaker on your phone isn’t powerful enough to keep you entertained while you deep-clean your kitchen. As soon as you start running water or using a battery-operated cleaning tool (just wait!) you won’t be able to hear your favorite podcast or that Oliva Rodrigo song you keep playing on repeat. Upgrade your kitchen audio with a portable Bluetooth speaker that also happens to be waterproof if you get a little overzealous with the steam cleaner.

Even the most eco-friendly reusable cleaning supplies need to be replaced eventually. If your scrubbies have seen better days, this is the perfect time for a refresh because fresh scrubbers have more scouring power than worn-down ones. Plus, you won’t be able to resist cleaning with these cuties.

A vacuum cleaner-mop combo

What’s better than a robot mop? A vacuum cleaner-mop combo. It may not be as hands-off as a robot, but a machine that actually vacuums while it mops (as opposed to something that pushes around a dirty mop pad) is life changing—especially for people with kids, pets, or muddy yards.
