A person has been charged following he allegedly broke into a 92-12 months-old woman’s property in Sydney’s internal west and sexually assaulted her at the weekend.

The woman’s relatives termed for enable immediately after she activated her health care warn gadget around 4:00am on Saturday from her Concord property.

Law enforcement attended and were being informed a person broke into the household and physically and sexually assaulted the female just before thieving her wallet and fleeing the residence.

The woman was taken to healthcare facility with cuts and bruises.

Following an investigation, 28-yr-aged Craig Anthony Wheatman was arrested in Homebush yesterday night.

He was billed with 4 offences, together with aggravated sexual assault inflicting bodily hurt and aggravated crack and enter.

At a push meeting on Monday morning, law enforcement explained what they thought to be an opportunistic assault as “heinous”.

“It is almost certainly just one of the most appalling I have noticed in 30 many years of policing,” Detective Performing Superintendent Chris Goddard said.

“It is a heinous crime … they are some of the most considerable rates in the crimes act … these offences carry considerable jail time.

“Clearly a 92-year-old particular person, frail of age, all those accidents will acquire some time to heal.”

Detective Acting Superintendent Goddard stated the lady had been released from healthcare facility and her family members had been now caring for her.

“She’s extremely sturdy willed and incredibly favourable about this complete issue,” he explained.

Mr Wheatman did not surface in Burwood Nearby Court on Monday and did not use for bail when his make a difference was listened to.

He has not entered a plea and his issue has been adjourned right until March 13.
