At 1st glance, a residing home with a white rug and white sofas in a house with 3 energetic young children doesn’t seem simple, but Julie Blanner designed it so. “I try to simplify my lifetime in any way I can. We have an outside rug in the residing space that’s tender adequate to use indoors,” she states.
“I’ve actually dropped pink wine on it and cleaned it up with water. We vacuum it routinely. If it wants deep cleaning, we just acquire it outdoors and hose it off, permit it dry and bring it again in. The sofas are slipcovered. If you have a good cloth they’re easy to clear with drinking water.”
In yet another bid to add features, the Blanners transformed an upstairs bedroom into a laundry area. “ I like obtaining laundry upstairs. It appears to be like it boosts energy to get all the dresses and sheets downstairs, wash them, dry them, fold them and then get them all back up. It seemed like so a great deal more of a chore than it is now.”
An additional chore buster Julie mounted in the garage. An appealing board set with pegs to keep brooms, mops, dustpans and extra, tends to make it easier to seize a device and go when it’s time to clean up.
Probably the space that showcases the Julie’s innate knowing of style, tradition and practicality would be the bright breakfast nook just off the kitchen area, which is truly far more of an almost everything nook.
When the Blanners bought the property, a lone futon stood guard in the space on a boring linoleum floor. The area with experienced no insulation and no character. “We experienced insulation blown in, included wainscoting and experienced a light fixture set up, as well as we carried the wooden floors into the area. It’s fantastic for our loved ones of five, but we can extend the table to 14-feet to accommodate guests,” Julie says.
