A woman is leaving people grossed out by showing how much dust and dirt is lurking in the carpets of our homes – even after vacuuming.
TikTok user @Miaslaterxo uploaded a video of the cleaning hack and gained more than 1.3 million views as others vowed to try it out for themselves.
All you need to get the job done is a handheld squeegee, which are usually used on windows and can be picked up for less than £1, along with a little bit of elbow grease.
Mia says: “Cleaning tip to deep clean and fluff up carpets way more than a hoover can.”
She then takes the squeegee she purchased from Ikea for just 75p, pulling backwards on the carpet to bring out all dirt hidden in the fibres.

She shows off the difference in colour in the grey carpet afterwards and the huge pile of dust and hair, writing: “Final result and all the dust that came up… try it and see how much is in your carpet.”
Hundreds of viewers were left stunned by the results, as one person commented to say: “I legit have the same carpet and this helped so much thank you.”
A second said: “OMG thank you. I’m doing this right now. I have a little Yorkie and she sheds.”
And others vouched for the method, as someone else added: “Can confirm this works wonders.”
